THEY'D DO ANYTHING...

Knowing how many of you enjoyed the Grand Central Station Freeze staged by Improv Everywhere. Here's another of their missions: sixteen 'agents' infiltrate the food court in Baldwin Hills Mall, Los Angeles, California, and improvise a musical!

The patrons' ability to ignore something they don't understand must, I guess, be one of those traits that separate the human being from other animals!

But the real question, after seeing this, is who needs Andrew Lloyd Webber and Cameron Mackintosh in order to make a star out of a waitress and a sucker out of everyone else?

  1. Brilliant! Especially at 6.30 am!
I stumbled on a "Grand Central Station Freeze" the other day in Brussels. I had no idea it was planned and to start with I was rather puzzled by all these people stuck on the staircase, their drinks or food halfway to their mouths. In the end, I froze myself, just watching them!

  2. As someone brought up on ALW musicals, its nice to hear something with a decent tune in it and so well performed ! I think this should be sent to the West End immediately !

  3. SUZANNE - Lucky you! Wish I'd been there...

BOLL - I couldn't agree more and you get food and drink thrown in - probably literally!!

  4. Terrific - I wonder how long it took them to plan, write and rehearse it and why they aren't performing in a theatre.
One thing that was a bit off - did you notice a couple of them standing on the counter and on a table - a bit unhygenic.

  6. LISAH - You're right, but I'm sure Simon Cowell popped round after the show and gave everything a good going over with Jiff!

GILL - Let's hope he gets discovered - it can't be long before ALW launches a search for a new Phantom of the Opera...
