LAST TANGO IN EMPORIOS

Don't know what the heck you're grinning about, Sibley, you're sixty-one today!

Greek Tango!

This photo of me dancing an improvised Greek version of the Tango with our hostess, Irini Glinatsi of Artistico Taverna in Emporios on the Greek island of Kalymnos, was actually taken six years ago when I was rather more agile than I am today!

Still, you never know because - now, as then - it's truly amazing what a few-too-many-ouzos can do!

  1. Hopefully a few too many ouzos won't result in a few too many falls!

Many Happy, Healthy and trip-free returns. xxx

  2. Brian,

Wishing you a very Happy Birthday.

I hope you and David are having a brilliant time in the Med (and drinking lots of goats milk).

  3. Hey, a very Happy Birthday to you, Brian!

And on another happy though unrelated note, I recently saw your name listed as a benefactor to the Embassy Theatre here in Wellington. How cool!

  4. Lest anyone wonder at SharonM's comment, I ought to explain that within minutes of arriving at our holiday destination - and before so much as a DROP of ouzo had passed my lips - I had a rather nasty fall...

There are goats and there is milk, Good Dog but not one from the other easily available here! My milking skills are, as yet, untested...

Hi, Ryan, it's some years back now that I celebrated my birthday on a plane to New Zealand. Glad my name tag is still on the seat in the Embassy. I sat in it once, but can't remember what film I was watching - it was possibly a special screening of Heavenly Creatures. Give my love to the windy city...

  6. Happy Birthday, Brian! We are looking forward to reading accounts of tonight's party in OK (or should that be Ενταξει?) next week.

  11. Belated Happy Birthday Brian. Not my fault that it is belated. Mandy got Bastille day muddled with St Swithin's day - an easy mistake to make!!

"Let's storm the Bastille! Hang on - it's raining! Better postpone for 40 days!!"

  12. Happy birthday Brian! Sorry I'm late!

Do take care there! No more falling!

  13. Suzanne - Dancing on the tables has been known - though not featuring ME!

Sheila - The media didn't arrive until the next day, when David and I appeared on Dodecanese Television!

Eudora - Sorry for the duplications (now deleted): dealing with anything via the internet on the remote corner of a small Greek island without broadband is time-consuming and fraught with problems.

Rob Cox - If your birthday lands on St Swithin's Day, do you have to "eat cake" for 40 days??

SCB, Boll Weavil, Susan D-L and dragonladych - Thank you very much! :)
