At Tilmanstone Village FĂȘte last weekend (where David was performing magic) we watched a display of birds of prey and managed to capture a few not-too-bad photographs. Here are a few of the owls, hawks and kestrels that were on show...
...and you can see the whole flock (together with some other avian portraits) in my

Terrific photos - and stunning birds.
ReplyDeleteHaven't checked Buttons' blog yet to see if you put him anywhere near of the birds.
Buttons decided to stay in the car!
ReplyDelete"not-too-bad" photographs?!! They are excellent. Although birds don't have facial expressions, it's fascinating how much one can see in their eyes.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Not quite National Geographic standard, but not bad bearing in mind the limits of our equipment - and talent!
ReplyDeleteBeing a bird watcher I love these shots, but birds of prey, my favorite!
ReplyDeleteThis are the relatives of the dinosaurs... Wonderful photos Brian.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Geno and Eudora.
ReplyDeleteThe dinosaur connection is a powerful concept reinforced when seeing the hawk ripping into a (dead) day-old chick as seen in the black and white photo.
Mr Sibley, Surely this blog should have been entitled 'Let Osprey'. You are, as usual being far too modest - there are some excellent pictures here.
ReplyDeleteGreat pun! Wish I'd thought of that! ("You will, Oscar, you will!")
ReplyDeleteThanks for the compliment - half of which belongs to Mr W! :)
