Here's a first glimpse of the cover for my 'Official Movie Guide' to The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey...

The book will be published in the autumn in anticipation of the film's release on 14 December. Exciting, eh?

  7. Does the Unexpected Journey refer to your peregrinations around LA airport? Seriously, I hope that the splitting of the final film(thank you, Harry Potter!) means that there will be 3 companions too. Fingers crossed. Hope the holiday's going sunnily. (RGP)

    Boll – Thank you!!

MG – My first copy sold! :)

RGPThree books? Summer book sales are not comparable with Christmas ones, so we don't yet know the answer to that question...

  13. I hadn't realized that film #3 will come out in summer. Somehow it just feels wrong - or am I the only person who feels that Tolkien belongs to Christmas? (RGP)

  14. Thanks for all your nice comments: I do hope everyone will feel that the content lives up to the very arresting cover!

RGP – Yes, they are definitely tales for a winter's night!

By the way, JJR, as much as I'd like to believe that Amazon.uk have already sold out, I doubt it very much! The book has only just gone to the printers!! I suspect that is the standard message for a book not yet in stock... But please DO pre-order! :)

  18. Brian,I'd just like to say thank you. I've read you're Harry potter book, LOTR book and Peter jacksons biography and they have brought so much joy to my life. I honestly can't say how excited I am to read this one for the hobbit. I love finding out about I film making and the biography I found very touching and am sad I've finished it. You should write another biography for Peter sometime post lovely bones or even yourself! (I'd love to heard your story). So can I say thank you again and say I hope you enjoy every bit of the amazing things you get to do with your job.

  19. Dear Anonymous (!), Thank you so much for your kind comments: much appreciated! I'd love to update PJ's biography, but, unfortunately, he's such a busy man that I'm not sure he'll ever have time to give me the necessary interviews!
