EARLY DAYS

Lawks! A little over halfway through September and the first Christmas catalogue has arrived...

Note the invocation on the cover...

Now, I love Magic, Christmas and especially Christmas Magic, but...

PLEASE, NOT JUST YET!

  1. That's nothing. I was in Calais last week, and saw Easter Eggs on sale in Carrefour!

(OK, to be fair, they were probably leftovers from this year rather than early stock for next year.)

Did your Lakeland catalogue fall from between the pages of the Radio Times? If so, did you notice a flattering Sibley reference in the small piece about Malcolm Prince?

  3. PHIL - No, my catalogue (being a Valued Customer) came through the post... But what's this? A mench in Radio Times? Damn! Missed it! Glad it was flattering... Er... you did say 'flattering', didn't you, and not 'FATTENING'...?

SUZANNE - OK, girl, go, go, go and --- SHOP!!

  4. In case you still haven't seen it, Malcolm Prince is featured in "The Face Behind The Voice", a quarter-page profile. In response to the prompt "Favourite Broadcaster" he says:

"Ed Doolan [...] and writer and presenter Brian Sibley, who has taught me almost everything I need to know about radio."

  7. Ridiculous isn't it?! Did the weekly shop in Sainsbury's yesterday and as you enter the store there's a long rack full of Christmas fare. If they carry on at this rate then in a few years time we'll be getting the Christmas stuff put out BEFORE Easter

  8. It's no wonder everyone gets in a panic about Christmas, is it?
