Sheila posted the following comment but, due to some strange vagary of Google/Blogger, I can't approve it for publication. Anyway, here's what Sheila wrote...

Thanks for these clips, Brian. I'm sure we're not the only people planning to watch the film this weekend.

You know, I considered writing about Curtis' breadth as an actor: playing in dramas - Sweet Smell of Success; The Defiant Ones (which earned him an Oscar nomination); Spartacus ("I'm Spartacus!"); The Outsider and The Boston Strangler - whilst being just as much at ease in comedies such as Sex and the Single Girl, The Great Race and, of course, Some Like it Hot. In the end, I decided that showing a couple of clips from the latter film with Tony looking - if not always sounding - quite sexy in drag and playing Junior with his Cary Grant accent was all that needed to be said...

Some Like it Hot is a standout, but two of my favourites are The Vikings and The Great Race.

Such a fantastic body of work and what a performer. With the Flintstones anniversary, I couldn't help but remember his Stony Curtis fondly too.
