HAPPY BLOGDAY!

Believe it or not, Sibley blogging began a year ago TODAY and it very quickly took on the format of a daily publication.

True, I missed a week-and-a-bit at Christmas, but I’ve nevertheless still managed to clock up 410 postings, plus 206 daily photographs posted on my Window Gazing blog; 24 Likely Stories; and 15 bookish posts on my Ex Libris blog; not to mention giving a helping paw with the 26 posts on buttons blog.

All of which adds up to a grand total of 681 postings in just 365 days and which, between them, have scored in excess of 28,000 hits…

Blimey! I’m exhausted just thinking about it!

My current health problems and the need to find some new paying work may soon result in a somewhat less ambitious publication schedule - perhaps a weekly offering or, at least, not quite as frequently as the daily service to which you’ve all become accustomed. My apologies in advance...

What I really want to do today is express my huge appreciation for your enthusiasm for my blog - your witty and thoughtful comments, your generous sharing of ideas and pictures, your ingenious competition entries and above - or beneath - all your tolerance of quite so many young men in their underpants!

I've really enjoyed the challenge of the past year - not just for the fun of finding funny pictures, recounting (and occasionally inventing) silly stories and logging a few bizarre recollections from My Life to Date, but for the numerous new friends I've made among my regular readers and for the many visits I've taken to other people’s blogs and from which I have derived much amusement and considerable education and intellectual stimulation.

So, thank you all and here’s to the ongoing joys and delights of being citizens of Universal Kingdom of Blog!

Happy Blogday to you. I don't know how many people are like myself, in that visiting this blog is an integral part of their regular routine, but I for one would miss it if you droped down to anything less than a daily showing. Not only is it always interesting but the company is good and that's something you certainly can't take for granted on these type of sites so my message to you is, keep on blogging.I look forward to more competitions and why not, to keep it running, invite guest bloggers to come up with competitions, photographs and comments to keep your audience entertained in your absence ?

BW - Thanks! Some bizarre signs will be making their appearance soon (courtesy of yourself and others) so, yes, all contributions are always welcome --- just so long as we don't get inundated with pictures of half-dressed gentlemen! ;-)

I agree with Scrooge (as I still tend to call him!). We'll miss you, Brian. It's true that my morning routine is pour myself a glass of fruit juice while the computer comes on, then visit your blog and read all the witty comments. What on earth am I going to do now?

Brian, a very Happy Blogday to you. Shame the weather's not up to snuff, but then blogging is an indoor activity.

Came relatively late you your blog but it was a wonderful discovery. Like Boll Weavil, I look forward to dropping by every day to check on your observations, and the competitions.

Here's to many more years to come!

Happy blogday indeed. Don't worry about not posting every day - the days you don't blog will give me a chance to catch up on reading the odd old entry which I might have missed over the last year!

GILL e-mailed to say:

Good morning!

Much as I understand your reasons [and sympathise with them], my morning routine will be completely thrown by your decision!

At the moment it goes:

1. Turn on computer
2. Go into Outlook
3. Shudder at the number of emails in the inbox
4. Open your blog
5. Feel better!

Now where am I going to get the "feel better' bit from"?!

I do hope you'll carry on with Window Gazing though, as I love that -- I can keep across the pictures rather more quickly than across the text!

Thank you ALL for your kind comments... Your pleas have been noted and will be heeded for as long as possible...

Window Gazing has gone over to weekly publication for a while - partly because of the challenge of constantly finding NEW windows and partly because of Blogger's recently introduced limitation on how many mega-bites of pictures can be uploaded without paying.

The site has already featured contributions from a couple of 'Guest Photographers', so if you spot interesting, striking, curious, bizarre, beautiful - or even ugly - windows, send them in!!

Happy Blogday Brian. As a comparative newcomer to your site I have to agree with the other posters' comments that it makes compulsive reading.

Do hope you'll be able to keep it going regularly - with a bit of help.

Have you thought about getting your bloggings published in book form?

Congratulations on a year's worth of interesting & stimulating blogs.

Along with all the others I will miss the daily blog which seems effortless, inspired & always pursues fascinating topics, not least the underwear!

Happy day!

And you don't look a post over 25. What's your secret?

I'm very glad to have stumbled over your blog all those many, many, many days ago. It's been somethin' else.
