A ROOM WITH(OUT) A VIEW

As I mentioned (in complaining about my bathroom basin), I'm staying in the historic Essex House which has the singular distinction of overlooking the entire 843 acres of Central Park...

This means that every room has a stunningly breathtaking view of what has been called New York's "backyard". Well, kind of...

While, in reality, my view is this...

Never mind, it's the thought that counts!

A couple of New York windows have been added to my sister blog, Window Gazing.

As an alternative,Mr B, you may like to tap my username (Leandros Boll) into you tube. You could then remind yourself of a view a bit nearer to your heart as I have posted a couple of short films from around Venice.
Adogo : A large metallic structure that may once have been a fire escape but is now trailing uselessly off your hotel wall completely blocking your view of the recycling unit.

Thanks for the links, BOLL.

Fascinating to see how few gondolas were moored on the Molo back in October - in the winter (when the gondoliering trade is a good deal slacker) there are banks of them stacked up and gondoliers are everywhere: loafing around, smoking, talking and hoping against hope to nab a passing posse of Japanese tourists...

Also interesting to see that huge cruise ship entering the Bacino... There's a wonderful absurdity about these hulking great aquatic monsters gliding through the fragile waterscape of ancient domes and campanella...

Which WallE put you in a room with a view like that?
I do hope that you and Buttons haven't accepted any invitations to go skating in the Park.

When they pass, they blot out the whole of the horizon ! My own favourite clip is the one entering Venice from the water bus where another vessel glides right across the bows - only just avoiding a collision.

Ooohh!!This is a very frustrating thing!!!!Isn't it a bad urban plan mixed government inefficiency,to notice that just in time and don't allow this wall view?
