PROGRESS

The Greeks say...

SUCCESS

isn't how far you got...

...but the distance you traveled from

where you started

And - depressing thought - today, we're already a third of the way along the road! That's my trouble really, I've always been a one-third empty rather than a two-thirds full person...

As I get older that "Monday morning" feeling has moved backwards more and more from around 4pm Sunday afternoon to around midday on Saturday.

Does that make me a glass three quarters empty person.

Limerick has transformed me.

But only because when I'm here there is no difference between Monday, Saturday or Sunday.

Just realised that posting this will be yet another reminder of being back home that will have you counting the days left again. Doh!

Don't worry, Ian, I'm more than capable of doing the sums without any prompting from home!!

We've often talked about the half-full/half-empty view of life and it constantly puzzles me if only because, from the earliest days of childhood, I cannot remember ever thinking in any other way...

So is it a generic perspective, I wonder...

Anyway, in three days time my one-third-empty comment will be irrelevant --- because by then I'll be in a HALF-empty situation!!

Isn't there a French saying about not complaining if the glass is half empty because you drank it? And that if it's good wine then you should be happy.
