RING IN THE NEW!

Wishing you all a very
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Or, as they say here---

BUON ANNO

David and I hope that your 2009 goes with a---

B A N G !

And if the fuse is being a little slow to light, then here's part of a New Year firework display in Venice from a couple of years ago to add a little celebratory spark...*

We wish you whatever you most wish yourself for the forthcoming 365 days but, above all, we wish you health, work, peace and happiness...

* Last Night's fireworks were accompanied by a snowstorm! We've spent eleven winters in Venice and - at long last - we have seen what the Venetians refer to as "rare snow"...

Very slippery, but bliss!

Oh, and by the way, buttons would like to offer his own particular new year greeting.

ETTRARG : The speech of a total stranger who is obviously trying to wish you a happy new year but is so drunk he has cleary been at a far better party than you have.
