THE PENALTY FOR BEING INGURLISH

Oh, well. That’s that then…

What can one say? As an exit, it hardly seems unexpected...

Anyway, we can now toss all those made-in-Hong-Kong St George's flags away for another four years, go back to eating plain old 'Mars' (rather than 'Believe') bars and spare a few moments to ask ourselves how the hell we ever managed to get it right in 1966.

Nevertheless, I vote that it's really time to tell Becks & Co that, in future, they'll be paid on a strictly 'performance-related' basis!

No goals, no millionaire life-style.

Who knows, it might provide a bit of necessary stimulus and focus...

"We was robbed"
It's the phrase that we will have to live with for a few weeks, whilst the self appointed experts and pundits analyse in boring, endless detail the minutiae of the defeat.
The truth is simpler ~ we lost because the Portuguese team were better.
