KEY-NOTE

'I forgot to mention,' [said Gandalf] 'that with the map went a key, a small and curious key. Here it is! ... Keep it safe!'

And where could be safer than on a Gandalf key-ring...?

Just be sure not to lego of your wizard!

And the website The Tolkienist has launched a series of 75 (the current age of The Hobbit) reasons why you should read The Hobbit before watching the films; my contribution is, as you will see, somewhat joky, but there are 75 reasons – count 'em and see for yourself!

Do they also have a Gandalf the White version?

No, but if you throw a Gandalf the Grey key-ring into a bottomless pit filled with fire it will, obviously, miraculously re-emerge as a Gandalf the White key-ring.

One reason must surely be to beable to pick holes in any little place where the film doesn't exactly match the book. That's half the fun surely.

Ah yes, when he was hanging on, but eventually had to Lego.

Boll – I like 'doesn't exactly match...'! :)

Christopher – Excellent! But, of course, there are still many millions of uninitiated...

Trying my best to make converts out of my co-workers! Most of them just want to wait for the movie though.
Getting excited! Any insights into how the three movies will be broken up? I won't tell Peter you told us...

75 reasons? But there are more than 75 pages in The Hobbit aren't there?

Oh this "please prove you're not a robot" is driving me insane.
